Balbir Singh Dhillon, head of Audi India stated how Audi saw a growth of 100% in sales in the first 10 months of 2021, and are expecting a higher growth with the return of the Q5, which has been among the most popular cars from the Audi portfolio. Delhi to Dehradun in 2.5 Hours
The travel time and distance on the popular route between Delhi to Dehradun are all set to get a drastic makeover, as the government plans to construct a new road connecting these two cities by the Delhi-Meerut expressway and the Eastern peripheral expressway. This construction makes the distance between Delhi and Dehradun simply 210 Kms along with a speed limit of 100 kmph thus cutting down travel time from 6 hours to just 2.5 hours. This route also consists of Asia’s largest wildlife elevated corridor spanning around 12kms of the highway. The highway will be equipped with amenities for commuters at gaps of approximately 25-30 Kms along with rainwater harvesting technologies as well as a closed toll system so commuters pay only for the distance that they travel and not for the entire route. The route shall have seven major interchanges for connectivity to Haridwar, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Yamunanagar, Baghpat, Meerut and Baraut. The project cost is estimated at Rs 8300 crore covering the entire stretch to be a 6-lane zone, with a section between Saharanpur and Ganeshpur to be 4-lane. Hon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone for the project in the first week of December 2021.
Price Hike by Automobile Manufacturers
The automobile industry is at the juncture where costs of production are continuing to rise. With the semiconductor chips falling short, the demand is greater than the supply and hence, manufacturers feel the need to raise the prices of their vehicles. Maruti Suzuki has already announced their hiking prices by January 2022. Luxury carmakers too have announced a raise in their pricing, Audi has announced a 3% increment across their entire range from 1st of January while Mercedes-Benz will hike prices by up to 2% only on select models. Following suit, Tata Motors, Renault and Honda are expected to raise their prices by the beginning of the new year too as costs of production are running high due to the rise in prices of raw materials and various commodities. As fuel prices are already skyrocketing, even the cost of transporting the vehicles from the manufacturing plants to dealerships has taken a high toll on manufacturers thus leaving them no alternative than a price hike. Hence, this December is the right time to make use of festive discounts and book a car before further price hikes!
